We are hiring Aquatic Lifeguards and Instructors. Mark your calendar and register online for a lifeguard skills screening:
- July 20 (Barcode 1473764), Plant Recreation Centre (Pool), 7 to 9 pm (arrive at 6:30 for check-in)
- August 9 (Barcode 1473761), Brewer Pool 5 to 7 pm (arrive at 4:30 to check-in)

You may not be a lifeguard – but to your child you’re the next best thing. Become a Designated Water Watcher and keep your children safe this summer and all year round.
As the designated Water Watcher:
- I will watch the children in the pool and never leave them unattended.
- I will regularly scan the bottom of the pool.
- I will avoid poolside chats and talking on the phone.
- I will keep a phone at the pool for emergency use only and know the address of the pool I am watching.
- I will call 911 and follow advice to administer CPR if necessary.
- I will locate and learn to use all pool safety equipment.

We invite local not-for-profit organizations, such as community groups and recreation associations to apply for up to
$3,000 in funding to deliver community events that take place in local, geographic communities and neighbourhoods in the City of Ottawa.
