Mark Garland – Loss + Laughter
June 5 to August 12
Vernissage: Thursday, June 5, 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Mark Garland(link is external) is interested in exploring the human condition and understanding these confusing times. His visual language is constantly evolving in order to refine his image making in hopes that the viewer can recognize themselves in the work. Ultimately, asking themselves questions rather than accepting the status quo.
Loss + Laughter is about our ability to adapt and adjust after major life changes. Moving to a new city or having someone close to you die, we wonder how to continue when faced with the unknown. Coming out on the other side of upheaval, able to participate and contribute, speaks to our primal survival instincts.
